Is Plastic Food Storage Safe?

More and more research shows harmful chemicals are leaching into our food and drinks from the plastic containers, which can negatively affect our health.

Just because something is labeled BPA free doesn't mean it's safe. BPS replaced BPA in a lot of plastics, but recent studies found that BPS is as hormonally active as BPA. It also is an endocrine disruptor, just like BPA, which may produce harmful effects, such as obesity, cancer and neurological disorders. So what's the answer to food storage needs?

Safest: Glass storage containers.

A few years ago glass containers were hard to come by and expensive. The good news is prices have come down and you can get them just about anywhere you can buy kitchen items. They last a lot longer too. Look for brands made in the U.S. because some glass made in China may contain lead or cadmium.
